Hormone Disruption: Fluoride and Your Wireless Device

RE -http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0009912011027330

Itshows that long term exposure (six years) to both cellphones andtheir base stations can alter human hormone profiles.

Themost significant (which the authors describe as highly significant inthe text) are their effects on the thyroid hormones, which show amarked reduction over this period. Although the authors do not say it(I suspect that they dare not if they want to get their workpublished) this would result in hypothyroidism, the most importantsymptoms of which are fatigue and obesity.

WEEP reader comments:

If cellphone exposure is combined with afluoridated water supply, the low thyroid outcome is even morelikely.

See this history of the fluorine/iodine antagonismconnection, and the use of fluorine-based drugs to treat overactivethyroid.

Pleasejoin the spreading campaign to remove fluoride (from toxic-wastesource) out of drinking water.

'Thiswater-based “wet scrubber” hydrofluorosilicic acid, containingthe contaminants, is then taken out of the chimneys and stored inopen-air cooling lakes, further exposed to airborne contaminants.Industry produces millions of gallons of this liquid hazardous waste. It costs thousands of dollars per ton to properly neutralize anddispose of hydrofluorosilicic acid, therefore, industry would ratherjust sell it to you as“product”.'

Andthen if you are exposed to mercury too... and then the EMF shuts downdetox, well we have got to do something about the use of these toxicsubstances.  Martin Weatherall, WEEP.

Lulled in to Risk: Cell Phones are not as safe as you've been told

Misleading Danish Mobile Phones and Brain Tumour Study

Just about every news outlet is telling you that your cell phone is safe, yet no one is really telling you about the faults in the study.

I have been researching the cell phone and related microwave issue for almost 15 years.  Everything I have read issues a risk.  And I have read research dating back to the early 1940s.

Of course you can make a choice to use a cell phone, a microwave, a smart meter, or have wi-fi in your home but just don't be lulled by junk science.  Get properly informed first before you wake up in 10 years with leukemia because your red blood cell production is failing because you carry your cell phone on your belt, or you can't have children, or you get thyroid disease or breat cancer, ovariam cancer or your children have behavioral problems or you get a heart attack.

"This misleading study has many flaws and serious confounders and should not give anyone reassurance that mobile phone use is not associated with an increase in brain tumours. In our opinion the paper should not have been published in this form — it should have failed peer-review. We recommend that it is disregarded as low quality science.

Denis Henshaw, Emeritus Professor of Human Radiation Effects at the University of Bristol agrees with this view: "This seriously flawed study misleads the public and decision makers about the safety of mobile phone use. I consider that their claims are worthless."" READ complete article

INDUSTRY PLAYS ‘DOUBT’ CARD TO DOWNPLAY IARC/WHO FINDINGS’
The BMJ is set to publish an 'update' to a study that finished over 4 years ago
[1](and used dataeven older) and was widely criticised at the time for its design - that it appeared to be
designed tocome out negative for tumours in that they had excluded heavy mobile phone users from the study(the business users).More recent studies - including the Interphone Study (itself somewhat flawed) - have shown asignificant increased incident of brain tumours and related cancers in long-term (10 years use for1/2 hour per day) mobile phone users.Because of these other studies etc. the World Health Organisation (WHO) in conjunction with theInternational Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) have this year declared microwave radiation -used by mobile phones and other wireless devices - to be a class 2b carcinogen " Possibly carcinogenic  to  humans "[2]

This means that microwave radiation is a possible cause of cancer  .The re-release of the Danish study is part of an industry-orchestrated backlash to delay legislationto limit microwave exposure and place mandatory health warnings on mobile phones (in the style ofcigarette packets) and other radiation emitting devices such as WiFi routers, smart meters andcordless landlines. The 4G spectrum sell-off would be adversely affected with such a move.

Danish Mobile Phone Study : He who pays the piper, calls the tune.
You might have widely read the story in the Press that "A long-term study, carried out by the Institute of Cancer Epidemiology in Denmark and published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, has found no increased incidence of cancer among mobile phone users."
However, if you delve a little bit deeper you will find that all is not quite as it seems.
George Carlo, former head of the US WTR research project into Mobile Telephone health effects in the late 1990s had this to say: "John Boice and his colleagues have been on the cell phone industry payroll, and for big money, since the late 1990’s. The money laundering vehicle is the International Epidemiology Institute — the name sounds like a non-profit by design, but make no mistake, this is a big for-profit enterprise. When I ran the WTR, the International  Epidemiology Institute, with  Boice and a fellow  named Joe McLaughlin, applied for funding to do this exact epidemiology study that was released this week. After much discussion within the WTR, they were refused funding because I felt they were blatantly biased and had overtly given us the notion that they would always create findings that were favorable to the industry."
The EM Facts Consultancy had the following to add: "Here’s the latest in industry funded cell phone studies that claim to have the final answer. When you see statements like “There’s really no biological basis for you to be concerned about radio waves,” and “people can become more reassured that these devices are safe” you can be sure the cell phone industry is paying the piper."

Health Risk: Cell Phone Danger Exposed At Last

UPDATE:18 October

Several years ago I was working with a fellow who had been in the construction industry and was an early-on cell phone user. He developed a parotid tumour on the side of his face that was exposed to his cell phone.

He treated this tumour with radiation.

When I met him it was some years after this event and he had developed other cancer, this time in his lungs.  He came to me seeking help and support for a more natural therapy approach.

I had an depth discussion with him about the cell phone exposure and its link to the parotid tumour.  About two years after he died a research study specifically linked the two.

Now a new admission of parotid tumour and cell phone use comes from natural health author Ann Louise Gittleman.

Hidden health risk in mobiles: Phone giants accused of burying warnings in small print
By Sean Poulter
10 October 2010

Health risk: Mobile phone firms have been accused of concealing warnings about their handsets
Mobile phone firms have been accused of concealing warnings about the health risks of using their handsets.
A warning that Apple’s popular iPhone should be kept at least 15mm away from the body is buried deep inside the manual.
BlackBerry goes even further, saying customers should use their devices hands-free or keep them an inch from the body ‘including the abdomen of pregnant women and the lower abdomen of teenagers’. Again, this advice is hidden in the instruction booklet.
All other manufacturers, including Nokia and HTC, carry similar small-print warnings despite insisting that holding mobiles against the ear and head is harmless.
Health campaigners and politicians on both sides of the Atlantic are calling for clear warnings to be put on handset boxes.
They are also demanding a public education campaign, starting in schools, to advise on the safe use of the devices.
Alasdair Philips, of Powerwatch, an independent group which investigates the safety of mobile phones, said: ‘Most people have no idea about these warnings.
‘The safety advice should be included on the boxes and far more prominently in the “getting started” section of user guides and not just in the detail at the back that hardly anyone reads.
‘This should be only part of a much wider public education campaign that begins in the schools.’
The safety advice in manuals is designed to limit so-called Radio Frequency exposure. This is said to heat body tissue and some – inconclusive – research suggests it is linked to tumours in the brain.

THE SMALL PRINT

Blackberry torch: Use hands-free operation if it is available and keep at least 0.98in (25mm) from your body when turned on and connected to the wireless network. Reduce call time.
Apple iPhone: When using near your body for voice calls or for wireless network data, keep iPhone at least 15mm (5/8in) away from the body and only use accessories that do not have metal parts. Again maintain at least 15mm separation from the body.
Nokia C6: Maintain a normal use position at the ear at least 15mm (5/8in) away from the body. Any accessory should not contain metal and should position the device the above-stated distance from the body.
Most RF exposure comes from the antenna and it can increase when a phone is kept in a pocket because phones increase their power output when a network signal weakens.
Men who carry handsets on their belt or in their pockets with the keypad facing outward will suffer higher exposure because the antenna, which is always at the back, is close to the body.
SAR – Specific Absorption Rate – is the standard industry measurement for the amount of RF energy the body absorbs.
Mr Philips said: ‘When a phone has to power up, it sends high SAR power into the trunk and towards the kidneys and liver. It can be the testicles if in a trouser pocket.
‘Some girls carry them in chest bags which hang just below their breasts. Breasts, eyes and testicles absorb external RF energy the most. Blood-rich organs, such as the liver, kidneys and heart are among the top energy absorbers.
Advice: Campaigners say pregnant women should keep their handset away from the foetus in the first six months
‘The ovaries and foetus are relatively well protected by the trunk, but it obviously makes sense to keep the handset away from those areas, especially the foetus in the first six months. Many later-life causes of ill health are increasingly being recognised as having their roots in foetal exposure to chemicals, hormones, radiation of various sorts.’
He said most handsets also put out pulsed ELF magnetic fields which travel further into the body than RF signals. These are associated with childhood leukaemia and some adult cancers.
Caroline Lucas, Green Party leader and MP, said: ‘Greens have never said don’t use mobile phones, but we have always said that as with any other technology, we need to make people aware of any potential risks and give clear guidance regarding the safest possible use, so we can get the maximum benefit from the technology with the least possible risk.’
Mobile phone firms are legally required to advise customers on how to minimise RF exposure and use their manuals to do so.
Michael Milligan of the Mobile Manufacturers Forum said: ‘A mobile phone can always be used up against the head without the need for this separation, because phones are designed to have the antenna far enough away from the head when making a call.
‘Every mobile phone model is tested to make sure they meet national and international exposure limits for exposure to Radio Frequency emissions, before they can be sold in the UK or elsewhere.’
However, many new phones are so slim, antennas will be closer to the head than distances recommended by many manufacturers. SOURCE
