Vaccine Exemption Information

I always, ALWAYS have people say to me, "I would like to stop vaccinating but it's required to go to school." In most cases, it's not. Go here to find your state's exemption: http://www.nvic.org/Vaccine-Laws/state-vaccine-requirements.aspx

Alabama Kentucky North Dakota
Alaska Louisiana Ohio
Arizona Maine Oklahoma
Arkansas Maryland Oregon
California Massachusetts Pennsylvania
Colorado Michigan Rhode Island
Connecticut Minnesota South Carolina
Delaware Mississippi South Dakota
District of Columbia Missouri Tennessee
Florida Montana Texas
Georgia Nebraska Utah
Hawaii Nevada Vermont
Idaho New Hampshire Virginia
Illinois New Jersey Washington
Indiana New Mexico West Virginia
Iowa New York Wisconsin
Kansas North Carolina Wyoming

Each and EVERY State has exemptions. For those states which allow for "Philosophical" exemption the parent simply needs to have personal reasons and the school can not stop a student from attending on the grounds of incomplete vaccine records!  For all other states Religious and Medical exemptions are permitted. Although each state has different laws for what "Religious Exemption" really means most will except a "Moral or Personal Conviction in the Strength of a Religious Belief" as enough and do not and can not legally require any actual religious documentation. IF you find yourself in a situation where your school district is telling you that proof of religious belief is required, there are advocates which will work for and with you to make sure you are protected as this is simply not legal! DO NOT let them scare you, the law is on YOUR side!
